School Presentations

Brown County Dairy Promotions is pleased to offer the following programs to the students of Brown County FREE OF CHARGE! All programs are presented by an a trained Dairy Ambassador from the Brown County Dairy Promotions team whose objective is to teach students of Brown County where their food comes from. Presentations that accompany your curriculum discussion on Wisconsin Agriculture will take booking priority.

A Farm of Many Colors


Grade: Kindergarten


Length: 45 minutes

A Farm of Many Colors is our  Kindergarten  storybook lesson with bright colors, Wisconsin foods, and real farm items. This lesson introduces students to the concept that fresh and healthy food comes from the farm. Students will also be introduced to a variety of foods from the 5 food groups, categorized by color. After listening to the story, students will discuss and answer questions about how food travels from the farm to the table. Each student also will receive their own copy of the book to keep and will have the opportunity to learn more about items used on a dairy farm as well as a dairy treat.


Mooing, Milking & Munching


Grade: 2nd & 3rd


Length: 45 minutes

Students will learn about cheese and  the process of turning milk into cheese as well as have a better understanding standing of the farms where milk comes from with this Smart board presentation "Mooing, Milking and Munching" (developed by the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board). At the end of the program, students will under of where their foods come from! Each student will receive a free copy of the book that we read in class. The presentation uses SMART technology, if it is available.


Presentation is available both with or without a smart board in the classroom - please choose equipment type on classroom visit request form.


Time for WI Cranberries


Grade: 4th & 5th


Length: 40 minutes

Brown County Dairy Promotions Educational team is offering a 40 minute presentation based on Time for Cranberries book- March 1 to April 1. The lesson will celebrate our official State Fruit facts, provide activities, give story overview, align with education standards and encourage students to participate in the Ag in Classroom essay contest. In a science comparison, the students will be treated to samples of dried and fresh cranberries.


Teachers receive the Growing Wisconsin magazine and Essay Contest Info.


Students receive a take home Wisconsin Cranberry Activity book and lesson worksheet.




Grade: 4th


Length: 45 minutes

A special blitz coming April 24-28, 2017


This Mapping Out a Healthy Wisconsin is the 4th grade classroom presentation to help strengthen your Wisconsin social studies unit. This vinteractive map and video presentation emphasizes the current economic impact of Wisconsin agriculture and discusses 16 foods grown in Wisconsin. Visit features a 45 minutes classroom presentation, along with a sample of Wisconsin cheese, and a student take home handout.


Rethink Your Drink


Grade: Middle School


Length: 45 minutes

Rethink Your Drink is a classroom lesson using SMART technology to provide student awareness of beverage choices and nutritional factors they need to consider before making a beverage selection. Students will gain awareness of total sugar content from natural and added sources and key nutrient concerns in beverages by reading food labels and making informed decisions about choosing healthy beverages. The lesson plan consists of one 45-50 minute SMART lesson which includes a hands-on or group beverage station activity.  What's in your drink?
